Vitamin C Helps Produce Collagen
Collagen is a structural protein essential for strengthening muscles, teeth, bones, skin, and blood vessels.  Skin's collagen is stored in the dermis, which fibrous proteins produced by fibroblasts.  It can
prop up the structure of the skin tissue and make our skin look supple.
However, the generation and the quantity of collagen in the body will gradually diminish and reduce with the increase of age because we generate less collagen as we grow older and free radical attacks eventually wear down the collagen in the skin.  We need vitamin C to maintain a healthy
body and skin.

3 Major Effects of Sleeping Problems:

1. Skin aging:
Insufficient sleep for a long period of time will hamper the blood circulation to capillary vessels on the skin's surface and slow the metablolism for cell formation, adversely affecting the discharge of waste from the cells. Skin will then appear to age faster than normal.
2. Toxins accumulating:
Our bodies have an automatically regulated timetable for detoxification. Through sleeping, the toxins in the body can be cleared up and the cells can regenerate. Insufficient sleep upsets the detoxification process, and toxins will start to accumulate in the body.
3. Depression and anxiety:
For every four patients with sleeping problems, there is one suffering from the symptoms of depression, Clinical research shows that the possiblity of committing suicide by the sufferers is higher. Metered by the " Beck Hopelessness Scale", sufferers may also feel more despair when contemplating the future.

How much fiber do we need daily?

According to the Health Department, a child's daily fiber needs is equal to their current age plus five.  For example, an
eight-year-old child's daily need is 13 grams (8+5).  For teenagers and adults, the daily need is 25 grams or above.
Here is the amount of fiber contained in common foods:
Oatmeal (one half cup): 2.7 grams
Unpeeled apple (middle size): 2.6 grams
Broccoli (half of a middle-sized bowl): 2.6 grams

Instestines play a significant role

When we talk about protecting our digestive health, most people only think of how to maintain regular bowel movements to prevent problems like constipation, hemorrhoids, and polypus.  In fact, the intestines play a significant role in the body's immune system.  The digestion process changes the environment of the intestines, which affects the mucosal immune
function of the intestine.
